Why Tactical Operators Need Cognitive Training

The decision to engage is harder than the shot itself. One misidentification ends careers — and games.

IFF Inhibition

Go/No-Go is the IFF test. 60% are targets (tap), 40% are non-combatants (don't tap). Commission errors are weighted 1.5× in scoring — the same asymmetry that makes IFF the defining tactical skill. In ARMA Reforger, one blue-on-blue ruins a 2-hour operation.

Cease Fire Response

Stop Signal trains aborting an in-progress action on command. When ROE changes mid-engagement in Squad or Ready or Not, you must halt the committed action immediately. This is the hardest motor inhibition task.

ROE Flexibility

Rule Switching trains rapid cognitive framework adaptation when engagement rules change. From ESCALATION to HOLD FIRE in a CQB environment — the ability to switch mental sets under load is what keeps tactical teams intact.

360° Situational Awareness

Peripheral Flash trains threat detection across the full visual field. Multisensory mode adds directional audio/visual/haptic discrimination — essential for tracking footstep direction in Escape from Tarkov or Six Days in Fallujah.

Target Re-Identification

Speed Match challenges pattern recognition under time pressure — matching the current target to the previous one. In multi-room CQB, tracking which combatant you've already engaged is a live working memory demand.

Range Estimation

Fast Math trains rapid arithmetic processing under motor pressure — directly applicable to in-game range calculation, hold-over estimation in ballistic drop environments, and AGL altitude calls.
